Lion Dance
For special gatherings, it is widely believed that the lion dance will bring good fortune, happiness, success, and prosperity to the place, people, and business at hand.
Depending on the purpose of the gathering, two skillful dancers in each lion can animate the lion to both entertain and tell a story as it carries out its job to drive away bad karma. The lion will also eat oranges and lettuce to represent good luck and wealth, and can share these blessings with the crowd!
We have performed lion dance at: schools, weddings, businesses, banquets, grand openings, rallies & marches, cultural festivals (including Lunar New Year celebrations), and other special events.

Kung Fu & Tai Chi
Grandmaster Chan Pui has created a strong legacy to promote, honor, and celebrate Chinese martial arts through the performances of Wah Lum Kung Fu. We pride ourselves in the diversity of our teams in terms of age, racial/ethnic groups, and gender.
We demonstrate a variety of dynamic kung fu and tai chi skillsâempty hand forms, weaponry, and fighting setsâto share about what kung fu really meansâtraditions with passionate, fun, hard work.
We have performed kung fu and tai chi at: community events, museums, temples, schools, cultural festivals, and more.

Dragon Dance
One traditional aspect of Chinese culture is the dragon dance. Chinese dragons are regarded as powerful, auspicious creatures that symbolize strength and good luck. Unlike lion dances, in which performers are hidden, the dragon is held up by poles which are used to manipulate the body of the dragon for animated motions and artful tricks. A dragon dance requires a large team â ten dancers to operate one dragon!
We have performed dragon dance at: Lunar New Year celebrations, half-time shows, anniversaries, banquets, parades, outdoor festivals, and more.

Book us for a performance!
Since the schoolâs inception, Wah Lum Kung Fu & Tai Chi Academy has been invited and performed traditional kung fu, lion dance, dragon dance, and drumming demonstrations throughout the Greater Boston community. These venues include cultural and family festivals, weddings, grand openings, anniversaries, fashion shows, banquets, outdoor film screenings, art receptions, and educational institutions. Our performance troupe also frequently collaborates with the Wah Lum Kung Fu Athletic Association of Bostonâs Chinatown for large cultural events such as Lunar New Year, August Moon Festival, and Bostonâs Dragon Boat Festival. We are honored and grateful for our visible and well-supported presence in the communities.
